A Quiet Space for Stories and Culture

IMG_1035.heic

I’m drawn to stories that linger quietly, the kind you return to without noticing.

This space brings together the projects, translations, and creative work I’ve been shaping around Korean language, literature, and everyday culture. I hope you’ll explore at your own pace and find something that resonates, whether you’re a reader, a collaborator, or simply passing by.

About

I’m Mai Trang (Joo), a content creator and Korean literature translator who works with stories and language. I make videos and translations that trace how culture moves through people, places, and small moments. This portfolio gathers the work I’ve been shaping as I prepare for my next step in Korean Language and Literature.

Translation samples

This page gathers a selection of my translation samples from contemporary Korean novels, short stories, and essays. These samples come from moments in Korean literature that stayed with me: quiet passages, brief scenes, and voices I wanted to understand more closely through translation.

『대도시의 사랑법』

『시간이 있었으면 좋겠다』

『종의 기원』

『옆집의 비혼주의자들』

「리틀 프라이드」

『카페 네버랜드』

Chaekbang
the Book Club

Chaekbang, found by Trang, is a small book club for readers who want to explore Korean literature together. We read works available in Vietnamese translation, ranging from novels and short stories to essays and nonfiction.

Each month, one book is chosen for shared reading and group discussions, sometimes followed by an end-of-month online conversation. It is a space for slower reading and for sharing personal perspectives along the way.
